Project Paced for ChatGPT

Project Paced connects to ChatGPT as a custom app, so you can create and maintain project timelines without leaving the conversation. ChatGPT can turn a project brief into a dated timeline, report on team capacity, read your weekly PMO status report, and update milestones directly.
The connection uses the Model Context Protocol, an open standard for connecting AI assistants to external systems. ChatGPT can add the connection as a custom app or plugin; the menu name depends on your version.
What ChatGPT can do once connected
- Preview and save a plan drafted in your conversation without using Project Paced AI allowance
- Generate a timeline with Project Paced AI when you want to use your generation allowance
- List your projects and retrieve any timeline with its milestones
- Report on who is over-allocated across the portfolio, and over which months
- Read the Command Centre project health view, including key person risk and available capacity
- Read the weekly PMO status report, including RAG status, trend and decisions needed
- Update milestone dates and completion status
Reading data, saving a plan drafted in chat and editing milestones do not consume Project Paced AI allowance. Your assistant’s own usage limits still apply. Reporting requires Pro or Enterprise; resourcing and Command Centre tools require Enterprise.
Connect ChatGPT
Follow the ChatGPT setup instructions to add https://mcp.projectpaced.com/mcp as a custom MCP server.
Select OAuth, then choose DCR (Dynamic Client Registration) in the registration dropdown before clicking Authenticate. You do not need to supply a client ID, client secret or API key. Choose Global or EU and complete the Project Paced sign-in.
If the setup controls are missing in your desktop app, use ChatGPT on the web. Your workspace administrator may need to enable custom connections.

Free AI allowances don’t reset; Pro’s shared allowance resets monthly. You can keep manually editing your project for free. One AI generation is one request to generate a timeline and its milestones. The allowance counts requests, not individual milestones.
Reading Command Centre dashboards and status reports does not count against timeline generation limits.
Data handling
The app transmits only the data required for the tool call you ask ChatGPT to run. Organisations with an EU residency requirement can connect to the European instance by selecting EU during sign-in, which routes requests to our EU backend.
